The ultimate four-in-a-row game
Hard Line is a really impressive game that can be played by many different ages and at many different levels of ability: For children it can be played as a higher level progression of the other four-in-a-row games that they tend to outgrow so quickly. For adults it's a deceptively unassuming little game until you start playing! Then some of the strategic aspects of the game begin to show themselves little by little and suddenly by quite a lot! The basic idea is simple enough - all you have to do is make a winning line of four dice in a row. Players take turns to place dice on the board and the first person to make a winning line of four wins. It's straightforward in theory but you'll soon find the going getting tough…The board has 16 squares on it, arranged in a four-by-four grid. Your objective is to outmanoeuvre your opponent and be the first to make a winning line. Easy huh? Within moments of starting the game you're deep into a crisscross of intrigue. Winning lines beckon in all directions - but the wrong move will give the game away. The stakes are raised at every turn. All sorts of options are open to you but which one should you take? That vital winning line can suddenly become a very HARD LINE to get! HARD LINE is best played by two people or two teams. It can be played almost endlessly without fear of repetition and offers many hours of intrigue and fun. Age Guide: Adults & children over 12 years. Number of Players: 2 Contents: Unique HARD LINE board, full rules, eight white spot dice and eight black spot dice. Click the picture below to see a low resolution box photo
Player Reviews: "To say this is another 4 in a row game does not do it justice. This game can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be. You can adapt the rules to suit the age group of the players. Intriguing and addictive, it has kept my teenage kids quiet for hours. The perfect Xmas family game." Submitted by George s "It's a good strategic game. It takes a while to learn all the different ways you can win by making a line of four but once you're figured out the rules it's really enjoyable. Like other four-in-a-row games the more you play the more tactics come in." Submitted by KB "I've played this a few times and discovered that although it looks simple, you actually need to think about it quite a lot. One false move and you've lost! There are so many combinations and permutations, I think it would take hours of non-stop play to work out the best strategy. Definitely an advance from Connect Four." Submitted by AC "There are a lot of ways to make a winning line and lots of complexity but each game doesn't last too long so if you go wrong, you get the chance to play again quickly." |
